Is the planner just the guide with the words taken out?
No — they do opposite jobs. The guide explains; the planner records. Where the planner needs you to know why, it points at the guide rather than repeating it, which is why the two together are shorter than one padded book would be.
Is it cheaper than buying them separately?
Yes. The guide is £14.99 and the planner £9.99, so the two bought separately come to £24.98; the set is £19.99, which saves £4.99. The figure on the page is worked out from the two live prices rather than typed in, so it cannot drift out of date.

A one-page Start here card is included for exactly that: read the guide, look at the filled-in sample, then start on your own copy.
